Clients reviews about Smooth Moves Piano Movers

My daughter asked me to help her get estimates and set up getting a piano moved to her new house. Smooth Moves was, hands down, the best option of the 5 estimates I received. Their rates were reasonable. I had 1 online estimate for almost $500, and a verbal phone estimate for about $400. The owner was very professional and friendly. His experience was evident. The original owner of the piane reported to me that they were in/out of her condo in record time and raved about what a great job they did. The entryway into my daughter's new home is very tight and awkward yet they were able to navigate it cleanly without any glitches. I highly recommend this company for ANY moving needs, not just pianos! ~ Louise N

Imagine a beautiful, shiny, baby grand piano. It's a work of art. Especially because your kids stopped playing it years ago, so at this point it's not really a musical instrument, so much as a beautiful, heavy, sculpture. But your kids are out of the house for college, so there's no one to complain if you decide to try picking it back up again, reliving your youth with some rock ballada of the 1990s. Let's do this! And then you buy a new house... Who are you going to trust to move this sculpture safely, quickly, and cost effectively? Smooth Moves Piano Movers of course. They finished our move today and I can't recommend them enough. Super professional and fast, and there wasn't a single moment where I worried about the outcome. And very reasonably priced to boot. Can't recommend them enough. If only they gave piano lessons.... ~ Dov R

I cannot rate Smooth Moves highly enough! They were very responsive to my piano moving inquiry and were very reasonably priced. The folks who came to move the piano were very friendly and TREMENDOUSLY knowledgeable. They handled our piano like it was their own. In addition, they appreciated the other instruments we had as well as advised us how long to wait before having the piano tuned (this is our first piano). They also went the extra mile to help better attach a wheel that had come loose (was loose before the piano was moved). Due to all of these factors, I will use them again without hesitation the next time I need a piano moved or refer them to anyone who needs a piano moved! ~ Timothy P

I didn’t actually use their services but they’re highly professional, just great customer service. I contacted them to move a piano but unfortunately I was out of their service area for what I was requesting. They suggested a couple other companies to try and then offered to move my piano purchase if I was unable to get anything lined up with who they suggested. They did let me know their prices, which seemed fair & affordable. After I did schedule with another company I realized Smooth Moves is a much better value. ~ Tony a

I needed someone to move a very large grandfather clock from Nothern Kentucky to my home in Southeastern Indiana after I purchased it off of Marketplace. This was too small a job for other professional moving companies to bother with and too delicate a task to entrust to some random guy with a pickup truck. Tony was quick to respond to my email enquiry and made arrangements to pick up the clock in a matter of days and at a reasonable price. Great communication and excellent service. I highly recommend this company. ~ Tom W

I had two pianos moved one from my house to my son's house and the other one from Milford to mine. I was so impressed. They even put things back, when I didn't even ask them , and then they Inquired, if they were in the right place! Very kind and courteous, and very carefully moved the pianos;: so professional and courteous. I wouldn't have anybody else move my pianos or any other furniture for that matter! Amazingly, the price was very reasonable, Especially for the three trips they had to make to switch pianos,. ~ Jo V

My husband and I decided to pull up old carpet and have vinyl flooring installed recently. Of course when you have a piano the next thing is having it moved to have flooring installed. These guys are super nice and very professional and came in a very short period of time from the time I made the initial call. Can't say enough nice things about these movers. I give them a high recommendation to anyone who needs a piano moved. Thanks again to these guys for making this a smooth and easy project. ~ Becky R

I highly recommend Joe and his team of piano movers at Smooth Moves Piano Moving. They were flexible, friendly, professional and patient. I changed the location of the piano placement on short notice, and they rolled with it. Just adjusted the quote and that was that. They even paused the moving process so I could vacuum out the dust bunnies from the back! The amount I paid was exactly as quoted. If you need a piano movers, stop looking. This is the right choice. ~ Emily H

We just had hardwood flooring installed. Prior to the installation, Joe and the crew came over to move the piano safely out of the way of the flooring crew. Today, they returned to put the piano back in its original place. They were very patient and placed the piano perfectly centered in the area where it needed to be. Joe was very responsive, on time, and they do a great job handling expensive pianos! THANK YOU! ~ Shirley M

We had a baby grand that had not been moved in about 50 years, and at first it seemed the legs couldn't be removed. Smooth Moves came back a second time after discussing the situation with others in the company and considering what was the likely problem, and they were able to successfully get the legs off and relocate the piano. Their willingness to give it a second try allowed new owners to have this instrument. ~ Sheryl P

Joe and Tony were just like their name, “SMOOTH.” I was in awe how smooth they moved our piano down two sets of steps. The level of piano knowledge and proficiency was such an added value. They even repaired the music holder! WOW! Pure amazing customer service. When we move it from the storage facility to its new home, I will definitely use “Smooth Moves Piano Movers” again! I highly / ONLY recommend them! Reva 🙂 ~ Magic M

If you need a piano moved, stop looking and contact Pat at Smooth Moves. They were fast, professional, affordable and kind. Not only did they move the piano, but they noticed I was missing a couple casters on my upright. They went out and found some spares in their truck that fit and put them on without even asking. They went way above and beyond what I've experienced from other piano movers in the past. ~ Ben T

I definitely recommend this professional piano moving company. Previously talking to Joe, I had called many different piano movers, they all were not responsive and had expensive quotes. Joe and and Nick moved my piano and they did an amazing job. They were quick and very professional. If I ever have to move another piano, I will definitely use this company. Very impressed. ~ Brody O

Amazing service - prompt, friendly, professional, careful, efficient, safe. All that and a bag of chips! Joe and his team moved my parlor grand down 4 flights of stairs, no damage to the building or the piano. Relatively affordable (when is moving a piano ever affordable, though). But by the end of it, I was happy to give them my money. Cannot say enough great things about Smooth Moves! ~ Claudia H

If I had one world to describe the business, owner, and employees. It would be "integrity". From the quote process to our urgent need to expedite they stood by their quote and did an outstanding job in the process. Careful and considerate they loaded up our Piano and moved it with ease. Will definitely use again, and will refer anyone who has a Piano to move. Thanks gentlemen. Keith. ~ K S

Very reasonable rates! They were on time and did a great job. My roommate and I had cumbersome couch we wanted to throw away. We are both small women so we weren't sure we could do it. The owner offered to have his guys take it out for us free of charge while they were there getting the piano. Nice local company to work with. ~ Miriam C

Just had my parent's piano delivered and these guys are awesome! My dad said it took them 2 minutes from his living room to their truck, and it didn't take much longer from their truck to my living room. Very nice guys, very reasonable fee. They definitely know what they're doing and they do it well. ~ Stacey R

They were wonderful. I called several piano moving companies & they were scheduling out further than the rest. I decided to choose them regardless because they were the least expensive, and by far the friendliest. He even called to confirm the day before (which was a Sunday & they are closed on the weekends) just as promised. ~ Nicole B

If I could give them one hundred and five stars, I would. Working with this group was seamless, painless, and — dare I say it — an absolute joy. Prompt and clear communication, incredibly friendly to work with, more than fair pricing, and they cared for our baby grand piano like a literal baby. Look NO further! ~ Kyria P

Joe and team are fantastic! I called them in quite a state after a different company failed to move my piano down a tight hallway. Smooth Moves asked for video and dimensions to devise a plan (with contingencies!) to get the instrument to its intended location. Extremely fair prices don’t hurt either. I recommend them wholeheartedly. ~ Catherine L

Joe and his team were awesome to work with. We were a bit difficult to work schedules with. Joe was patient and prompt with communications and pickup/drop off. They were super courteous and helpful throughout the process. Hoping we won’t need to move any more pianos, but if we do we wouldn’t look anywhere else. ~ Dwight M

I have had them move two pianos for me on two different occasions: my own little spinet and a grand piano for my parents. They were quick and efficient, very courteous, also gentle with the piano and floors. Honestly one of the nicest people and business that I have ever come across. You can also tell that they love pianos! ~ Sarah S

Smooth Moves helped us get our heavy grand piano safely into our new house. This team made sure the piano itself and both houses were in the same good condition they found them in, and they’re the nicest guys you’ll meet. Communicating/scheduling was a breeze. Such a reasonable price too. ~ Lisa C

These guys were quick, personable and affordable. DON'T use a moving company... you'll end up paying literally 3x what Smooth Moves Piano Movers will charge. This was one of the easiest companies I've dealt with and I'd use them again in a heartbeat. ~ Theresa P
